Travel Vaccinations
The Practice is able to offer travel injections & advice ONLY on the following: Hepatitis A, Typhoid & Tetanus/polio/diphtheria.
For all other vaccinations please attend a local travel clinic.
If you require any of the above vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to complete a travel questionnaire which will be reviewed by our Practice Nurse and a plan made for any required vaccinations and further travel health advice. You will need to complete the form & give to reception at least four weeks prior to an appointment booking for the Practice Nurse to review your medical records.
You can also carry out a self-assessment for travel to help identify if you require any vaccinations - www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
It is important to complete your questionnaire as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as an appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
Travel Health Questionnaire
